Does anyone know where to have one built and will they possibly go through the scope. Does anybody know if it is worth paying the extra money to get one that Creedmoor has gone through They want 625 plus shipping, you can get them for 429 with free shipping now. It's the price that caught my eye in the first place. I was thinking of having a 1903 built into a sniper rifle with the Hi-Lux 8X USMC scope. I'm not trying to start a flame war here or drive anyone nuts, I just wanted to know if I am overlooking something. if for no other reason than the lack of the parallax adjustment. It doesn't even have adjustable magnification.īottom line: when it comes to performance (compared to the best stuff available today) it seems that this scope just can't compete. something that would cause accuracy problems with a 10x power scope. It has a smaller sized objective and it is not parralax adjustable.

This scope only has a 4mm exit pupil, so it can't be very bright, it only has 1/2 MOA clicks so it can't be very precise. The most iconic sniper rifle of the Second World War, the USMC M1903A1 8x Unertl equipped sniper rifle was the backbone of Marine snipers in WWII and Korea. I fail to see how this scope could even come close to the performance of optics priced at less than half as much. However, it seems to me that they are being marketed purely based on their "superior" performance. If that's all there is to it, I understand, since it's worth whatever people are willing to pay. I can see the value it might have when it comes to looks, or history.
